How is the CCAA method?
It is an audiovisual method that uses multimedia resources in carefully designed lessons that enable learning in a simple, gradual, and natural way. The student is introduced to the oral form of the language before being presented to its written form, just as we learn our mother tongue. In the oral phase, the student is presented with lessons featuring everyday situations, which are worked on interactively in the classroom, aiming at discovery, understanding, retention, and use of the learned content not only in similar situations but also in daily life. Once the oral phase is completely mastered, the student moves on to the written phase, which includes reading, written exercises, and listening comprehension exercises, allowing them to master the four language skills: understanding, speaking, reading, and writing.
What is the minimum age to study at CCAA?
CCAA offers courses for children starting at 3 years old.
Are there exclusive classes for adults?
Yes. CCAA offers an English course for adults. The Adult Course is recommended for adults and young adults, starting at 16 years old, who want to learn English for personal, academic, or professional development. Additionally, CCAA also offers a Spanish course for adults. Español is recommended for adults and young adults starting at 12 years old. In this course, students speak Spanish from the very first class.
Is there a course focused on business?
CCAA offers Business English. This course enables young adults and adults to communicate professionally in English, using a broad and up-to-date vocabulary that covers topics ranging from banking transactions to real estate purchases and sales, for example.
Does CCAA offer an intensive course?
Yes. In fact, there is an intensive way to take the courses. In this intensive format, students can complete two levels per semester or even more if they take VIP individual classes.
What are VIP classes?
These are individual classes that offer students the advantage of scheduling flexibility and faster learning progress compared to regular classes.
Are CCAA courses only available in regular and intensive formats?
No. Students can also choose to take VIP individual classes. With VIP classes, they can accelerate their studies even more, depending on their availability.
Does CCAA offer a teacher training course?
Yes. CCAA offers the Teacher’s Course, designed to develop professionals who want to work as teachers or simply continue improving their English skills. The course content is structured into six modules, in which students, besides reviewing important grammatical points and studying Anglo-American literary and cultural aspects, will also learn the techniques developed for applying CCAA’s methodology.
How are students assessed at CCAA?
Assessments include written and oral exams throughout the study period. Exercises are also part of the evaluation process in learning.
What learning materials are used at CCAA?
CCAA has exclusive and fully interactive learning materials, specially developed by our publishing house. These include textbooks, workbooks, listening comprehension practice books, and interactive CDs that allow students to practice at home everything they have learned in the classroom.
In case I fail, do I need to buy the materials again?
Yes. The materials cannot be reused. It is essential for students to have new materials to ensure the correct application of the methodology, and to properly follow classes, redo exercises and the proposed activities.
I already have some knowledge of the language. Is there a Placement Test to study at CCAA?
Yes. The Placement Test (English and Spanish) is divided into two parts: written and oral. The written part consists of items that increase in difficulty according to the content blocks used in our courses. How many questions are in the Placement Test?
The English test consists of 62 questions; the Spanish test consists of 52 questions. Both increase in difficulty according to the content blocks used in our courses. You can stop at any time, depending on your knowledge level. The indicated level is not based solely on the total number of correct answers but on performance in each content block.
